DO-IT-YOURSELF BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR MY DAUGHTER LHOURIA NICOLE

My daughter Lhouria Nicole turned 6 last November 19, 2016 and i'd like to share how i managed to give her a day which she enjoyed truly. I know how tough it can be sometimes to think of where to get your party supplies, especially when you have that much time like in my case I am a working mom. One month before my daughter's birthday each night after all where sleeping, I am full awake doing the things needed for her party. My daughter's party wasn't a grand celebration, it is just simple, but full of colors as what she requested me to do a "Strawberry Shortcake" birthday theme.!

So here it is, some quick tips in case you want to have your little girls party too at home which not costs to much a simple, colorful and happy birthday party!

INVITATION

Her invitation is so cute but simple. I search from the internet and i got this cute template, downloaded it, edit and print.. tadaaaaaaaa cute right! Using your imagination, choosing the right font, color and picture, you can create this invitation which i spent only about 150 pesos.

PARTY DRESS

I've been winding around choosing what is the perfect dress for my daughter. I know that she loves pink. After an hour at the mall i was hoping that i can chose a cheap but looks expensive dress for her. Woooaaah!!! after the last minute shopping hours at the back of all the girls dress section, I saw the only pink dress with a orange tag which means its on sale. The regular price is P1,500.00 and i got it only P 650.00 what a big discount! Almost 50% dc i got! I am lucky that day indeed.... Be patient.... that is the secret hahaha.. I bought her dress at Marquee Metro Store. By the way she wore her old shoes used in several occasions we attended, a silver and white in color.

DECORATIONS

To give Lhouria Nicole's party some color, i chose to do some arts like bunting cut outs with strawberry shortcake picture on it, krip paper using color red, pink and green cutting it and style it as the back ground curtain alternate with its color. The table for her candy and food corner is covered with white cloth and i placed the green krip paper in the middle making a highlights and not seen as boring in it. I ordered balloons too partnered with the 3 colors theme. The 6 balloons i placed it in the food corner hanging with 6 pretty pictures of Lhouli giving a simple dramatic designs hehehe.. In the wall i hang a strawberry shortcake bunting with "Happy Birthday Lhouria Nicole" message. For the outside guests space, 2 long table with white covered and pink kript paper in the middle. I made a craft for its center table. A vase covered with red and green paper imagining a strawberry in it with a message and cut out picture of strawberry. A simple decorations made her birthday a more colorful party.

FOOD & CANDY CORNER DETAILS

Since the party is meryenda and dinner time, i opted to asked my mother her specialty like her tibuk- tibuk a Kapampangan delicacies served as a dessert top with niyog cooked in atleast an hour until caremalized turned into brown. Pancit canton for adult one and Spaghetti for kids. Adding Pork Barbeque on our menu including Asadong Manok a Kapampangan dish, Ham and Pineapple dish. Lumpiang Ubod with my special peanut butter sauce is indeed a blockbuster hehehe... On the other part of the food we served a mini samgyupsal party with my cousins and aunties which they really really love. Its funny and exciting how they cooked and eat it. Then the special part for kids is the Lhouria Nicole's Candy Corner a blockbuster too for kids. I can see in their eyes how they appreciated my diy strawberry shortcake theme party. Lets start on the candies which all flavored strawberry from biscuits, lollipops, mallows, wafer, bubble gum, donut, cupcakes and cake. All candies wrap up with tags and stickers of strawberry shortcakes. A strawberry shape craft is one of the special art that i do and when u open it you will be surprise, you will find a strawberry candies inside. Her cupcakes and cake are also diy. I didn't by from any known cakes supplier costing to 1,500 to 2,000 instead I make a unique one. A chocolate cake with strawberry icing with strawberry candies on top. I added a number 6 candle and cutout a strawberry shortcake picture with her face edited on it. Her chocolate cupcakes i put on a blister and a sticker on the top matching the colors of green and pink. On the left side you will see the mini photo booth too making for the one who love selfies. For the giveaways, I make a paper bag with a sticker inside of it were all strawberry flavored stuffs like candies, biscuits and diy pack of strawberry mallows with tag in it. The cone cap which is a strawberry shortcakes too. The plan i do for her candy corner ahead of time is just a perfect finished and accomplished for my self,, that i did it! i did it! Hoorayy!!!

GAMES & FUN

A game called "samsaman" in Kapampangan. Bag of candies are hanging on a cross square bamboo coated with silver plastic. I designed it by putting some colored buntings. A game called Calamansi relay also a Kampangan game mostly a 2 group fast as transferring calamansi using with a spoon in the mouth. Bring Me, a game well known asking the host any object requested who comes first is the winner and lastly the longest happy birthday game... This games makes all the kids happy after receiving their prices.

SUCCESS!!!

It was a big success and so much happiness this party for my one and only baby girl but she said she is now a big girl.. Despite not everyone we've expected were there still it is a successful one! Thank you to all who came, her classmates, cousins, friends, tito's and tita's, lolo and lola, even my friends and co-workers who came despite of distance and your kind heart generosity for giving Lhouli's special presents in her birthday. Special thanks also to the best lola in the whole world Lola Lourdes for cooking your special dish for Lhouria Nicoles birthday. For Daddy who is so much supportive whatever decisions i made specially when it is all about our daughter's happiness.

As a mom, i know how special these birthdays are for kids because they create memories to cherish. No matter how big or small the party is, the most import this is that the celebrant feel special and secured of the people who love her.
